heerlijkheid Sedan van zijn schoonbroer Guillaume de Braquemont en begon in 1424 met de bouw van een eerste kasteel, inclusief priorij.<\/p>\n<p>Dit driehoekige kasteel, bekend als het primitieve kasteel, werd sterk vergroot en versterkt door de afstammelingen van Evrard. gevangen gezet. Om zijn eigen hachje te redden, schonk hij het prinsdom aan koning Lodewijk XIII, waardoor het aan Frankrijk werd verbonden.
